GENDER: Female.
PROFESSION: None.
COUNTRY/EMPIRE: Greek.
RESIDING KINGDOM: Sparta.
SPOUSE OR BETROTHED:
Bethrothed to Herodes (21.)
PARENTS:

SIBLINGS:
Kastor (brother; 14) (deceased)
Midas (brother; 22)
CHILDREN: n/a
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Dianthe has fair skin with light freckles around her nose and cheekbones. Her eyes are dark green with hints of brown, and her hair is a deep chocolate color that falls in waves to the middle of her back. She's slender with a narrow waist and long legs, and stands at about 5'5''. Her lips are full and soft pink, and she's often complimented on her smile. Overall, Dianthe isn't amazingly pretty, but she's not hideous either. Her average looks don't much stand out among a crowd.
PERSONALITY:
Dianthe has a great love for animals, and spends much of her time riding the family horse. She's a tough, independent woman, although she's also kind-hearted and even-tempered. In a patriarchal society, she's what we now know as a Feminist. She despises being forced to marry and rebels against womanly chores by working outside with her brother.
HISTORY:
Dianthe has had a pretty decent life. Sure, her family wasn't extremely rich or high up on the social ladder, but her family is alive and has always been good to her.
Dianthe's younger brother, Kastor, fell ill and died at fourteen. Dianthe was fifteen at the time and old enough to feel the loss, but her family barely had time to grieve. With a father always away in the army and a mother who is constantly cooking and clearning in the house, Dianthe's family has always been busy. Her older brother, Midas, takes care of the majority of the farming and outside work, although Dianthe often pitches in (against the wishes of her mother.) Since her father, Errikos, is in the army, Dianthe rarely see him. When she does, the meetings are brief and unemotional, so he doesn't really seem like a father to her. In fact, she rather dislikes him.
Errikos decided on one visit, just after Kastor's death, that he needed to secure his family line. He then began the search to find partners for his two remaining children. He chose a woman named Melaina for Midas, who was beautiful but of low social standing, and generally an unpleasant individual. As for Dianthe, he chose a man named Herodes, who was the son of a man who owed Errikos a huge favor. The favor of saving the man's life was repayed by the hand of his son, and the two were engaged to be married before Dianthe was 20. The friend and his family were very wealthy, and so Dianthe was thrown into a world of gold, jewels, and fine clothing, although she despised it all.
Dianthe hates Herodes for his arrogance and disrespectful disposition. She talks to him as infrequently as possible, savoring the moments without him. And it's her lack of desire for him that makes Herodes want Dianthe.
As to whether the marriage goes through... we'll see.
