You have quite a bit of free rein to create your characters. Besides where they come from, you can basically do anything you want. Remember that characters can only be Greek, Roman, or Egyptian. Check the "Welcome" box at the top of the page to see which of these three are available. Greeks will always be available, but if we have too many of the others then those will be closed off until we get more Greeks. Greeks need to be the majority, considering it's Greece.
When you're filling out your character sheet, you must fill out every part, even if it doesn't apply to you. So if your character is an only child, put "none" or "n/a" in the space for Siblings. Don't leave things blank. As far as the longer answers, things like Personality, go into a lot of detail. Please, please, please put more than a paragraph for history. For appearance and personality, I'd like at least 6 or 7 sentences, but I'll make exceptions for well-written descriptions.
I'd really like to see some characters who don't have the whole "I've had a tragic life where my entire family was slaughtered and I turned my pain into anger and became a hardcore amazingly talented warrior." A little tragedy is fine, and some obviously are going to have a really bad history. But if everyone tries to do this then I will write the history for you. You wouldn't want that.
When you're making a family for your character, you do not have to actually create and play every member of the family. If you need them in a post, just use them as if they existed. If you do want to create them all, then go ahead.
Any and all pictures and photos you use on this RPG must be legal. Do not use photos or art without persmission from the photographer or artist. When you do use them, you must give credit by writing the photographer/artist name on the picture.
